Description

Warm, odour-resistant, made-to-last Mohair, with a chunky ribbed design. Made from the silky-soft fleece of Angora goats, mohair is renowned for its strength, warmth, and breathability -keeping your feet cosy in winter and cool in summer. Unlike traditional wool, mohair is naturally antibacterial and moisture-wicking, ensuring your socks stay fresh and dry throughout the day.

A rich navy blue that can be dressed up or down. Consider this shade an essential in the sock drawer.

Care

Machine wash mohair socks at 30°C or cooler using a gentle or wool cycle and a mild detergent suitable for delicate fibres.

Do not tumble dry, as high heat can cause shrinking and damage the natural fibres. Instead, reshape while damp and air dry flat away from direct heat sources such as radiators or sunlight.

Do not bleach, as this can weaken mohair fibres and cause discolouration.

Ironing is rarely necessary, but if needed, use a low heat setting.

Avoid high temperatures and rough handling to help keep mohair socks soft, warm, and long-lasting.

Sourcing

Our Mohair is sourced from Angora goats in South Africa and our socks are made in a traditional British mill in the west of England. We’ve worked with this family-run mill for five years to produce the highest quality mohair socks with care.

I found the mohair socks very itchy . The colours are lovely but I have to wear softer socks underneath so I use them with my walking shoes .

FAQs

How do Mohair socks compare to wool socks?

Mohair socks offer several benefits, including warmth, breathability, and durability. The fibres help regulate temperature, wick moisture away from the skin, and resist odour build-up. Mohair is also naturally strong and lightweight, making it a good choice for comfortable, long-lasting socks.

Is Mohair good for walking or boot socks?

Yes, mohair is a great choice for walking and boot socks. The fibres are naturally strong, lightweight, and insulating, which helps keep feet warm without adding bulk inside boots. Mohair is also breathable and moisture-wicking, helping to manage sweat and keep feet more comfortable on longer walks. Its durability makes it well suited to regular wear, especially in sturdy footwear where comfort and performance matter.

What are the benefits of wearing Mohair socks?

Mohair socks are considered very hardwearing due to the strength of mohair fibres. Mohair is naturally resilient and resistant to wear, which helps socks keep their shape and last longer than many standard wool or cotton socks when cared for properly.

Are Mohair socks hardwearing?

Yes, mohair socks are known for being warm, lightweight, and durable. Mohair fibres come from Angora goats and are naturally insulating while still breathable, helping to keep feet comfortable in both cool and mild conditions. They are also smooth to the touch, making them a comfortable option for everyday wear.
