This is a lovely company to do business with, extremely helpful. As for the socks - they are the best I've ever come across, really soft and comfortable and very well constructed around the heel and toe so they fit perfectly. It honestly does make such a difference to have comfy feet. I'm going on a walking holiday and I think these will make all the difference, plus you don't have to wash them so often so less to carry! If they live up to their reputation for being long wearing that will be an enormous bonus. I'll definitely be buying again anyway

I’m always skeptical about socks…

I’m always skeptical about socks…. They boast such excellence then fall short and the answer is normally a free replacement pair that falls just as short. I decided to try Pairs because the material (Alpaca wool) is fantastic in other clothing. I was not disappointed!!!! They wash well, wear well and will last well given my experience so far!!! Please don’t get too successful and compromise quality

I walk about 2 hours daily in boots…

I walk about 2 hours daily in boots with my dog. My ancient socks were feeling a bit thin so I am trying these Alpaca socks. So far, after about 3-4 hours walking outdoors in boots, they seem great. They feel comfortable and warm with a sort of silky feel. I haven't washed them yet. I may re-review later.

I learnt about this company after one of the owners was in a recent radio interview, and decided to visit their website. The service is swift, and I like the fact that you can choose minimum packaging on your order. We have tried various other brands of woollen socks on the market, manufactured abroad, which have pinched around the ankles and generally have not felt comfortable.'Pairs' socks, in contrast, are soft against the skin and extremely comfortable to wear all day long. I am also delighted to support a UK made product!

These are possibly the best socks that I have ever purchased and experienced. I opted to try the Alpacca socks! Wow, super comfy & warm. Equally important, the socks didn't move on my feet all day, something I do notice in my other (more expensive) socks, so well done to the Pairs team!

Lovely quality but sizing is huge

I love the colour and the feel of my knee high socks but I don’t love your sizing. Your size small is far too big for a UK 4. The socks say Small 4-7 and when you look at the foot part they certainly look like a size 7 and are gaping. I wouldn’t say that these are a small or appropriate for anyone under a UK 6. The other pair of socks I received as part of the offer were also way too big so I gave them to my partner who’s a UK 7 and he’s thrilled. For larger foot sizes your socks are brilliant but for my size they are just too big. :(

I can't rate this company highly enough. The socks are brilliant nomatter which option you go for. I choose these everytime now and my older cotton socks are nowhere near as warm and cosy. I have bought these as presents too and recipients are commenting on how confy they are too. If you would like a little touch of luxury then I'd highly reccommend buying from Pairs.

We love our socks they are super cosy. Even though we are between size 7 and 8 and so chose the 8 to 11 option, we would opt for the smaller size as they might stay on better during the night.

These are a bit on the large side for me (I’m usually a 4 or 5 shoe size), so they aren’t as comfy as I’d hoped, sadly.

I’m absolutely delighted with my wool bed socks - in the past I’ve only worn cashmere but got frustrated by the fact they didn’t stay soft for long despite careful washing. I bought two sets of Pairs in orange and brown. They handwash beautifully, and stay soft and roomy for the perfect night’s sleep - and excellent value. Have ordered two more pairs.

Summer socks…

I've been looking and trying various socks from other companies especially for the summer. These merino calf length seems to fit the bill as they are soft and comfortable. We shall see how hard wearing they are but an easy 9 rating so far and I'm really pleased the elastic doesn't cut my leg off as some others do. Need to buy some more. Thank you Pairs

Flat toe seams are wonderful!

As someone with wide feet, I've always had issues with toes seams pressing painfully into the toes. Not a problem with the merino socks! Their flat toe seam is pain free even in narrow shoes. The material is also good quality and feels like it will last a long time.

A Big Upgrade from Standard Cotton Socks

I bought the merino wool and bamboo rayon socks, and they’re a big step up from regular cotton socks. They’re softer, more breathable, and wick moisture much better, keeping my feet dry and comfortable all day. They’ve also held up really well after multiple washes, no pilling or stretching, just the same great fit. The quality and durability are far better than what I’ve found in retail stores. Highly recommended!

These are my favourite socks - I have several pairs of the merino knit ones and have bought them as gifts for people a couple of times too. I love the range of colours. They are lovely quality and, most importantly, never fall down inside my shoes when I'm walking places!

Thoroughly recommended

I'm working my way through a new selection of mostly bamboo and merino-rich socks and my intial impressions are that they're extremely well made and likely to be around for a long time. The solid colours are rich, the weaves strong and consistent and stitching is very good. I'll try to avoid the tumble dryer to maximise the chances of them retaining a good shape and minimising shrinkage and fabric weakness. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again, although to be honest have so many pairs of socks that I've run out of storage.

Pairs Mohair Socks

These are the second order of Pairs Mohair dark grey socks that I have bought and have become my favorite socks to wear with anything. They are very beautiful and have exactly the right length of calf. Much better than my Merino socks in many ways. They are a little thicker look smarter and are much softer and feel very comfortable to wear. I wear them with both my formal trousers and with my suits as well as my casual joggers which I wear most of the time.

Fabulous items, very easy to navigate small website. Initially I bought 4 pairs of the Merino based sock but I thought them to be so good, I repeated the order. Typically I’m not a socks fan as I find them too hot & stuffy but these are perfect. My feet feel like they can breathe and they look good too. For someone that normally walks barefoot both in the house & garden, it’s a big thumbs up. I don’t think I’d buy any other socks in future!
