The Daily Ritual of a Slow Summer: Natural Fibre Socks for Long British Summer Days
A British Summer, the Pairs Way
There is something uniquely special about a British summer.
The first coffee in the garden. Long lunches that drift into the afternoon. Wimbledon playing quietly in the background. Weekends away, impromptu picnics and evenings that seem to stretch on forever.
For our Summer 2026 campaign, we wanted to capture those moments, the simple pleasures, familiar rituals and slower pace that make the season feel memorable.
Shot by photographer Conor Clarke at The Old Rectory in the Northamptonshire countryside, the campaign celebrates the understated luxury of dressing thoughtfully from the ground up. Inspired by long British summer days, the imagery captures the rituals that define the season; mornings spent outdoors, afternoons on the tennis court and evenings that linger long into the golden light.
Why We Chose The Old Rectory
More than simply a backdrop, The Old Rectory became part of the story. Its relaxed pace and timeless character created the perfect setting for a campaign centred around slow summer rituals, understated style and the simple pleasure of taking time. Captured through Conor Clarke's lens, the result is a collection of images that feel warm, nostalgic
and effortless, a celebration of summer as it is actually lived.
For founder Alice Macfarlane, the shoot was a reminder of the simple pleasures that inspired the collection in the first place.
'Travelling down from Scotland to watch the campaign come together was such a joy. Seeing the merino and bamboo collections brought to life in that setting - reminded me why we make what we make. We were incredibly lucky with the weather too. The forecast earlier in the week had been for heavy rain, so to arrive to sunshine and to be able to shoot the socks with such a great team felt very lucky!'
Natural Fibres Designed for Warmer Days
At the heart of the collection are the fibres that have become synonymous with Pairs.
Summer dressing begins with the pieces closest to you. The essentials worn from morning through to evening. The items packed first for a weekend away. The pieces reached for again and again throughout the season.
This collection centres around two of our favourite natural fibres: fine merino wool and lightweight bamboo. Chosen for their breathability, softness and versatility, they are designed to move effortlessly through the rhythm of a British summer, from warm afternoons in the garden to cooler evenings outdoors.
