When Alice set off on a walk in the foothills of the Scottish Highlands back in 2020, she wasn’t planning to start a sock company. But then again, few of us planned much that year.

On that walk, she realised her cheap cotton socks were miserably uncomfortable. A simple question came to her: why do we settle for throwaway multi-pack socks? Maybe, she thought, she could create something better.

Just weeks later, yarn samples were arriving at her door. A new venture was taking shape: socks, but made properly - in luxuriously soft, natural fibres.

Now five years on, Pairs is evolving. There’s a new look. A new website. But the mission remains the same: to bring more people the simple pleasure of a really good pair of socks.
